The origin of the work lies in a painting, which is gradually transformed and reassembled to respond to the deteriorating surface of a crumbling wall. Situated within an aged architectural environment, the installation does not aim to restore the wall in a structural sense. Rather, it engages in a visual act of reinforcement—symbolically supporting the wall while acknowledging its fragile condition.
By carefully integrating with the weathered textures, the work conceals cracks and imperfections, yet subtly draws attention to them. This creates a layered duality: between decay and care, exposure and concealment, appearance and reality. Through this tension, the installation highlights the neglect embedded in the environment while simultaneously masking it from casual observation. The result is a visually compelling experience that invites reflection on the nature of repair, resilience, and the quiet complexities of spaces marked by time.
