Sarkar intervenes in a room’s corner to create a playful illusion of unity. By pasting a painting precisely over this junction, he makes it appear as though these three surfaces have been “welded” together.
This welding is not structural, but rather a visual pun and a metaphor. It masks the original condition of the walls while drawing attention to their separateness. In doing so, Sarkar highlights the paradox of making something appear whole by concealing its truth—yet through that very act of concealment, the truth is exposed. The work employs absurdity and humor, suggesting that what appears solid or unified may be nothing more than a surface trick—an intentional misreading of space that invites viewers to reconsider how perception shapes understanding.
